Curation is creation
Modern life is defined by an excess of opportunity.
We have more information, more products, and more choices than ever before. It’s a very absurd situation to have so much that we can't even decide. Look at your digital libraries, unfinished audio books, half-watched courses, and streaming platforms. Yes! It is weird.
As a result, curating, filtering, and refining are even more important skills to have than ever before. Those who edit best will be able to find the signal in all the noise.
Nowadays, curation is just as important as creation.
Those who edit the best and are able to navigate through this crazy ocean of information will find opportunities to build new startups, media companies, and curated marketplaces. For example, look up trends.vc. This guy built one of the most profitable indie startups just by curating data and connecting the dots.
Curation also is a great starting point if you want to establish a personal monopoly or build an online brand. It doesn’t require any special resources except a curious mind with the ability to frame and reframe ideas.
However, last week I began curating some specific content for my audience (more than 3000 curious minds!). Since I’m still testing the idea, it’s only a simple resource page on Notion for now.
The content I curate is for artists and creatives looking to start a digital business. If you want to read more focused and deeper content and articles on the Creator Economy, DeFi, the new generation of media companies, E-commerce, and building communities, you definitely need to take a look at it.
Take care, and talk again soon!
