Pick the blue and zoom out
Welcome to new subscribers who joined our tiny publication in the last week. I’m very grateful you’ve decided to follow my journey.
This week's newsletter is short:
I had a couple of bad days. I couldn’t focus and felt unmotivated.
Then I came across this famous quote of Pablo Picasso that I first read when I was in college:
“If I don't have red, I use blue.”
And it echoed in my head. I don’t know what his original intention was but this is how I interpreted it to myself: You can be sure you are going in the right direction if you keep working on the days when you don't feel right.
It’s not always possible to be focused and to stick religiously to our plan, while having the big picture in mind.
I said to myself: It’s OK! Just pick “the blue”. Just try to keep working and don’t ask too many existential questions!
It worked out. I wasn’t as productive as usual but at least I didn't stop.
When we zoom out, we don’t remember our bad days. The only thing that matters is to stay committed to the journey.
Be OK with your bad days.
Let’s talk soon,
-Reza
